Located in Piazza XXV Aprile, the EATALY Milano Smeraldo store is an emblematic adaptive reuse project that has transformed the historic Teatro Smeraldo into a modern temple of food and wine. The project, curated by the Eataly Design team, renovated the large three-level space, creating a spectacular central opening that symbolises the union of market, catering and education, and obtaining LEED certification for sustainability.
The concept is based on the dialogue between the industrial memory of the place and a contemporary and functional aesthetic, ideal for a high-traffic environment. To ensure durability and aesthetic consistency in this iconic space, the BRIVK stoneware collection by Ceramica Sant'Agostino was chosen. Used in a neutral colour, the series reproduces the effect of bricks with sophisticated texture, in a Tetris format that adds dynamism and a sense of authenticity to the interiors.
Ceramic thus becomes the key element that blends the memory of the past with the functionality of the present, defining a vibrant, welcoming space that looks to the future.
